History
Gradac Park occupies a limestone promontory with panoramic views of Fort Lovrijenac, the Adriatic and the offshore island of Lokrum. One of Dubrovnik's oldest public green spaces, it has served as a natural open-air stage for Dubrovnik Summer Festival productions since the mid-20th century. Croatia's most celebrated theatre director, Branko Gavella, staged Goethe's Iphigenia here — considered one of the festival's landmark productions. The park remains a venue for outdoor performances, open-air screenings and impromptu music events during the summer season.
